Simon Poulter Simon Poulter Simon Poulter

London and New York based Director of Photography with experience in all genres from Music to Features but I mainly work in Documentaries.

My most recent work includes a Drama Documentary Everything is Connected – The Life of George Elliot for BBC Arena, starring actors Jason Isaacs and Shiela Atim, Stoptober a comic Anti Smoking campaign for Public Health England and Portillo’s Hidden Histories, a presenter led series with unsurprisingly Michael Portillo at the helm.

Previously I spent a few seasons filming master interviews for CH4’s 24 Hours in A&E and ITV’s Autopsy, one off specials such as The Ivy for BBC, Gurkas on Everest for BFBS and We’ll Meet Again for PBS.

My latest Feature Film, Great in Britain: The Movie is out now on Amazon.

The last few years I’ve found myself shooting documentaries in extreme /adventure / hazardous environments such as Uganda and South America which has been great fun given the extra challenges that involves.

Most successful films usually involve a great deal of collaboration between everyone involved so feel free to get in touch ahead of time if you want to discuss any possible projects.

I’m an owner operator working in Broadcast and Film for 20 years so I can supply and advise on any specialist kit or crew for your production. Also very comfortable to either be the lead DoP on a larger production or work with other camera teams.

Qualified and insured drone pilot.

The CH4 /Fox Searchlight Feature documentary YOUNG@HEART won a double Rose d’Or in Lausanne and had a Cinema release in the USA
